Hi all,
As the Indy Racing League moves over to rFactor and our focus is definitely to get a lot more members than we have at the moment, we ask your opinion about a couple of things, regarding to what the IRL is at the moment, what is good and what could be improved. We're definitely open to huge changes if necessary, because we just want to fill the grid with at least 10 cars per race and become a very well known league in the world of sim racing.
I would like to ask all members to copy/paste the bold questions below in their posts and to answer those questions as honest as possible. Remember to fill in the poll as well, that's about next seasons' schedule and the schedule is definitely one of the most, if not the most important thing to get people interested (or not) in taking part in this championship. Remember that if huge changes to the schedule are necessary, those changes won't come earlier than in 2015!
What do you think about race control, are they doing a good job?
What could be better in the IRL, in terms of race rules and/or damage multiplier?
Are the car physics good, or are they too easy or too difficult to handle?
Should the IRL keep running half distance races compared to real life, or should the races be longer or shorter?
What do you think about the point scoring rules? Is it good or are some improvements necessary?
Post your dream IRL schedule below the answered questions from above, keep in mind that the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval will ALWAYS have a place on the schedule!
There's also space for your own idea's, EVERY SINGLE IDEA IS WELCOME, we are more than open to new things!

My answers and IRL dream schedule
What do you think about race control, are they doing a good job?
They are doing a superb job, they're consistent and fair.
What could be better in the IRL, in terms of race rules and/or damage multiplier?
The oval qualifying format with the exception of Indianapolis should be 30 minutes of driving as much laps as you want.
Are the car physics good, or are they too easy or too difficult to handle?
They are good on road/street courses, however I do have my doubts whether keyboard members can handle the Short oval and SuperSpeedway physics.
Should the IRL keep running half distance races compared to real life, or should the races be longer or shorter?
Running 50% of the real full distance is perfect for me, however it would be more than awesome to run the full 500 miles at Indianapolis.
What do you think about the point scoring rules? Is it good or are some improvements necessary?
I think the CART point scoring rules which they had until 2003 which was 20, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 (which means the first 12 will only score points) and 1 point for pole position would make for a much more interesting championship. This would be a great improvement.
My IRL dream schedule
20 races - (* means a night race)
01. Daytona International Speedway* - R/S 02. Streets of Long Beach - R/S 03. Phoenix International Raceway* - O 04. Indianapolis Motor Speedway - O 05. The Milwaukee Mile - O 06. Pocono Raceway - O 07. The Raceway on Belle Isle Park - R/S 08. Portland International Raceway - R/S 09. Burke Lakefront Airport (Cleveland) - R/S 10. Streets of Toronto - R/S 11. Michigan International Speedway - O 12. New Hampshire Motor Speedway - O 13. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course - R/S 14. Road America - R/S 15. Sonoma Raceway - R/S 16. Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca - R/S 17. Gateway Motorsports Park - O 18. Streets of Houston (Reliant Park) - R/S 19. Streets of Surfers Paradise - R/S 20. Auto Club Speedway* - O
I would love to start the season on the Daytona road course under the lights and to end the season under the lights as well at the great 2-mile Auto Club Speedway oval.
Everything summarized; 6 races on a temporary road course, 6 races on a permanent road course, three 1-mile ovals, two 2,5-mile ovals, two 2-mile ovals and one 1,5-mile oval.

What do you think about race control, are they doing a good job?
For the moment he is doing an excellent work, perhaps I recived a penalty, I deserved it.
What could be better in the IRL, in terms of race rules and/or damage multiplier?
I think it is good to keep it as much realistic as possible.
Are the car physics good, or are they too easy or too difficult to handle?
In fact not, as me and nobody of this (i think) drove a real DW12 I am not who to question the physics. Of course it is hard to drive for the little grip on tyres. But if in the reality the car performance is the same that in the game, i don't have inconvenient.
Should the IRL keep running half distance races compared to real life, or should the races be longer or shorter?
I guess now it is lite, it is a perfect distance where better strategy will win for sure the race. For me it isn't an inconvenient.
What do you think about the point scoring rules? Is it good or are some improvements necessary?
I would be harder with the DNF because you can get same or similar points if you finish or not. For this reason I think it doesn't show a "real" score.
My IRL dream schedule
I think use same than real calendar is perfect.

What do you think about race control, are they doing a good job? They are doing a good job. What could be better in the IRL, in terms of race rules and/or damage multiplier? I would like to see in qual. a 3 fast laps format , its add a more pressure to the driver and it makes it more interesting. It will also be a good chance for slower drivers to find themselves on the front row of the grid. It would be nice to have one race where is two mandatory pitstop needs to be done , its could mix up the cards totally. Are the car physics good, or are they too easy or too difficult to handle? The car is hard to drive for sure , but that is the way it should be.I been driving at long beach circuit and what ever i do with setup it still have to much understeer , so its little bit frustrating.I like what they do when you race in ovals , just a small touch and you will hit the wall for sure. What steering assistance you using guys?I using low but i cant decide what would be the best , and it have much influence on driving too. All in all the cars feels quite realistic and that is most important. Should the IRL keep running half distance races compared to real life, or should the races be longer or shorter? The way it is now is perfect but we could do one or two races at 100% race lenght. What do you think about the point scoring rules? Is it good or are some improvements necessary? I would like to see point system like it is in f1 but it doesent really matter for me. My IRL dream schedule Where the hell is Road America ?? ;D ;D ;D
