The Indy Racing League is not even on it's halfway point of it's 2012-2013 season of racing and there already has been announced a race schedule for 2014 but there's even more to announce.
The car specifications: The cars will be lighter next season, they will have even less downforce, more grip because of new tires and much and we repeat, much more horse power. The goal is to reach lap times on an oval like Indianapolis Motor Speedway which do come close to Arie Luyendyk's lap record at the Speedway of 1996.
A notable rule change is the fact that from next season onwards, everyone who has at least led 1 lap during a race, will be awarded an extra bonus point. The two bonus points for leading the most laps and the bonus point for pole position will remain as well.
