Hi all,
The Indy Racing League is very pleased to announce, that there will be some rule changes for the next IRL season.
* The pole sitter is allowed to choose on which side of the track he/she wants to start the race, of course he/she will have to tell that to the organization before the race will get started, if not, he/she will have to stick to the original side of the track.
* Everyone who has led at least one lap during a race will get one bonus point, the two bonus points for leading the most laps will remain though.
* Every driver has to qualify for every race, if you don't qualify, you will get a DNQ behind your name and so you won't be allowed to participate in the race.
* The driver who wins all four 250-mile races, will get a 20 point bonus at the end of the season.
* The points system will get some slight chances, the most of it will remain the same but from 18th place onwards, one point less per place downwards is going to be awarded. This means that it's no longer the case that 18th-24th place and 25th-33rd place will get the same amount of points.
* The double header race weekends at Detroit, Toronto and Houston will feature two full races, basically it are two consecutive normal race weekends on the same track but keep in mind that the first of the two races will have a standing start and the second race the standard double file rolling start!
